The 3rdEye® Post Mission fleet management system reports where your vehicles have been when they return to the base station. With this system, you can plan more trips, cut unnecessary fuel and overtime costs, and eliminate unnecessary side trips. (for the real-time tracking version, see 3rdEye Real Time)
The 3rdEye reports can tell you:
- The minute-by-minute path of your vehicle, down to street names.
- Over-speeding and harsh braking
- Excessive idling time. The vehicle is not moving but the engine is running, which is a waste of fuel.
- Door and temperature (for refrigerated cargo) status
- Total time of vehicle use
- Distance travelled (approximated from point-to-point GPS data, NOT an odometer reading).
- Travel stops
How it works:
(point your mouse over a component to view description)
- A 3rdEye GPS Mobile Unit® (Post Mission) is attached to the cab of the vehicle. The Unit is equipped with an external GPS antenna that picks up signals from GPS satellites. The Mobile Unit can be factory programmed to record intervals ranging from every twenty seconds to every five minutes
- A detachable memory cartridge records the movement of your vehicle, storing dates, time, and location (street names and districts), accurate within a 10 meter radius.
- When the vehicle returns to the Base Station, the detachable memory cartridge is placed inside the Base Unit which is attached to a computer running the 3rdEye Software

- The Base Unit reads the data stored in the detachable memory cartidge and generates a report on the whereabouts of your vehicle during the assigned trip.
- A hard copy of the report can then be printed by any Windows printer
